Care built around every stage of your life.
Preventive screening is the foundation — catching what's treatable before it becomes what's not. On top of it, we've built genuine in-house expertise in perimenopause and menopause, and an east-meets-west toolkit that goes well past a prescription pad.
Preventive screening is where women's health actually gets won
It's easy to think of a well-woman visit as a box to check. It isn't. Breast and cervical cancer, osteoporosis, thyroid disorders, and cardiovascular disease all share the same pattern: caught early, they're manageable; caught late, they're not. We build a personal screening schedule around your age, family history, and risk factors, and we track it year over year so nothing gets missed — not "we'll get to it next visit."

In-house perimenopause & menopause expertise
Kayla Yanga, NP, has developed a genuine clinical specialty in perimenopausal and menopausal care and counseling — not a generic addition to a general-medicine visit. Her approach centers on extensive hormone testing and symptom-based treatment that adapts as your body changes through the transition, instead of a single prescription handed out and left alone for a year.
That means real tracking of your hormone levels over time, structured conversation about which symptoms matter most to you, and a plan that's revisited and adjusted — combining conventional hormone therapy, Chinese herbal formulae, and medical acupuncture where each fits best.
Your health, at every stage, actually taken care of.
Most new patients are seen within a week, in person or via telemedicine.
Your screening schedule, by decade
General guidance below — your actual schedule is built from your family history, prior results, and risk factors, and it's tracked in your chart year over year rather than re-derived from scratch each visit.
In Your 20s
Pap testing every three years starting at 21. HPV vaccination through 45 if you haven't had it. STI screening based on activity, blood pressure and cholesterol baselines, and a real conversation about contraception and periods that shouldn't be as painful as they are.
In Your 30s
Pap plus HPV co-testing every five years from 30. Thyroid and iron checked when symptoms warrant — both are commonly missed. Preconception planning if relevant, and a first look at cardiovascular risk while it's still fully modifiable.
In Your 40s
Annual mammograms typically begin. Colon cancer screening starts at 45. Perimenopause usually begins here, years before periods stop — cycle changes, sleep disruption, and mood shifts are worth investigating rather than waiting out.
50s & Beyond
Continued mammography and colon screening, bone density testing around 65 (earlier with risk factors), and ongoing management of blood pressure, cholesterol, and thyroid — the conditions that quietly drive most long-term risk.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women, and it presents differently than the chest-clutching picture most people carry — fatigue, jaw or back pain, nausea, breathlessness. It gets the same attention here as the screenings women are more used to being offered.
An east-meets-west approach, under one roof
Dr. Boguslavsky is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Medical Acupuncture — one of the only physicians in the region with that dual certification. In practice, that means when you come to us with menstrual pain, menopausal symptoms, or hormonal imbalance, you're not choosing between "conventional" and "alternative" medicine. You get both, coordinated by the same team:
- Conventional medication and hormone therapy when it's the right tool
- Chinese herbal formulae for anxiety, menstrual issues, and menopausal symptoms
- Medical acupuncture, often covered by insurance
- Nutritional and lifestyle guidance for hormonal balance
You don't get referred out to a separate specialist for each piece — it's coordinated by providers who already know your history.
Women's health questions
Why does preventive screening matter so much for women's health?
Because the conditions that affect women most — breast and cervical cancer, osteoporosis, thyroid disease, heart disease, hormonal disorders — are far easier to treat, and often fully preventable, when caught early. A well-woman exam isn't a formality; it's the single highest-leverage visit on your calendar. We track your personal risk factors and screening schedule year over year, so nothing falls through the cracks.
What makes your perimenopause and menopause care different?
Kayla Yanga, NP, has built a dedicated in-house program for perimenopausal and menopausal care that goes well beyond a quick hormone-therapy prescription. Visits include extensive hormone testing, structured symptom tracking, and treatment that's adjusted to what your body is actually doing — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Do you really use Chinese herbal medicine, or is that just marketing?
It's a real, actively used part of our clinical toolkit. Dr. Boguslavsky is board-certified in Medical Acupuncture, and our herbal formulae are used specifically for anxiety, menstrual irregularities, and menopausal symptoms like hot flashes and sleep disruption — either alongside conventional treatment or as an alternative when hormones aren't the right fit.
Is hormone testing part of a standard visit, or something extra?
For perimenopausal and menopausal patients, extensive hormone testing is a core part of how we build your treatment plan, not an add-on. We use it to understand where you actually are in the transition and to track how you're responding to treatment over time.
Can I combine hormone therapy with acupuncture or herbal treatment?
Yes, and many patients do. Because the same practice offers both conventional hormone management and integrative options under one roof, we can combine approaches, or move between them, based on how your symptoms respond.
I'm exhausted and gaining weight but I've been told my labs are normal. What now?
"Normal" often means a single TSH was in range, which misses a lot. We run fuller panels — thyroid antibodies and free T3/T4, iron and ferritin, vitamin D, and hormone levels — because iron-deficiency anemia from heavy periods and early thyroid disease both present exactly this way and are treated completely differently from "it's just hormones." If perimenopause is the answer, that's treatable too. What we won't do is tell you the labs look fine and leave it there.
Do you handle heart health, or is that a separate doctor?
We handle it. Heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined, and it's under-screened in women partly because the classic symptom picture was built from studies of men. Blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes risk are part of every well-woman visit here, and we manage them ongoing through chronic disease care rather than handing you a referral and a follow-up in a year.
